The multifactorial disease, Kiwifruit Vine Decline Syndrome (KVDS), is a highly complex phenomenon that leads to irreversible root rot. The new rootstock RO.KI.1 (CPVO applied), also known as Viola™, is the first result of the RO.KI project. It has shown the best performance in comparative resistance trials conducted by research institutions as part of specific projects (L'Informatore Agrario No. 16, 2024), as well as excellent fruit production in fields affected by vine decline, both in combination with A. deliciosa and A. chinensis.
