CAB6P

CAB 6P is a clonal selection of *Prunus cerasus* developed by the University of Bologna. This rootstock induces moderate-to-low vigor (resulting in a 20–30% reduction compared to seedling rootstocks) and demonstrates remarkable adaptability to compact, heavy soils prone to root asphyxia. Its relatively shallow root system provides moderate anchorage, making it ideal for medium-density plantings in fertile, irrigated soils. Phenologically, it advances the ripening period by a few days compared to the Colt rootstock. The variety exhibits a strong tendency to produce suckers and is particularly sensitive to water stress and root rot caused by *Armillaria mellea*; conversely, it shows excellent tolerance to *Phytophthora* and *Verticillium*.
