Colt

The nursery produces well-rooted plants of the Colt rootstock, in 60-hole sockets.

(P.avium x P.pseudocerasus hybrid)

Obtained at East Malling (UK) by HMTydeman in 1958. Plant of medium-high vigor in the nursery, with upright and compact habitus. Poor pollen activity. It adapts well to different types of soil, including those that tend to be heavy and humid. Sensitive to calcareous soils and limited water availability. Susceptible to root tumor (Agrobacterium tumefaciens). Considered as an alternative to the Franco in case of cropping, even on heavy soils.
